Led by Jeremy Windle and Salwa Osman, our new office in Los Angeles allows us to better serve our expanding Los Angeles-based clients and collaborators, and support our burgeoning downtown projects. Supported by our 220-person parent company, tk1sc, with offices in Irvine, San Diego, San Jose and Riverside, StudioK1 is now positioned to provide lighting design services of unparalleled quality and immediacy for our partners within the Los Angeles area.
Jeremy Windle | Associate IALD | MIES | LEED AP (Director)
Jeremy has worked as the lead lighting designer on a multitude of significant and complex projects over his 20-year career, including the Cabrillo Marina and Downtown Harbor for the Port of Los Angeles, casinos in Las Vegas, Columbus and Detroit, theme park attractions for Universal Studios in Los Angeles, Florida and Singapore, restaurants and hotels throughout the United States, as well as destination hospitality and retail projects for Simon Properties, MGM Resorts, and Caruso Affiliated. Coming from an entertainment and technical theatre background, Jeremy has extensive experience with lighting, building and show automation systems, as well as real world experience in implementing these systems in the built environment.
Salwa Osman | MIES | LC (Director)
Salwa has been working with light and space for over twenty years. Her experience ranges from enormous and complex high-end multi-family residential and mixed-use projects for The Irvine Company, to luxury resorts, to luxurious owner’s suites at sports arenas across the country, to high-rise residential towers in Los Angeles and San Diego. Trained as an architect, Salwa uses light to express a ‘fourth’ dimensionality to architectural form, pairing that with the technical skill and know-how that enables her to achieve the results desired in a holistic manner that is sensitive to form, function, environment, energy performance and budget, all while paying tribute to the architectural design intent.
